Glossary
- Paper
- All fills are simulated in-house against live Alpaca prices. No real orders are sent anywhere.
- Fill model
- Buys pay the bar close plus half the quoted spread; sells receive the close minus half. With no fresh quote, a 5 basis-point half-spread is assumed.
- Stop / trail / target
- Every position has a stop below entry and a target above. After a trade gains one unit of risk, a trailing stop follows the high, never below breakeven. A 5% hard floor always applies.
- Daily loss limit
- If the account is down this much today (realized plus open), new entries stop until tomorrow. Survives restarts.
- Blocked signal
- A strategy wanted to buy but a risk rule said no. The reason is shown in the feed.
- Feed stale
- No new bar from Alpaca for 3 minutes during market hours. New entries pause until data resumes; stops keep running off quotes.
- EOD flatten
- Everything is sold 5 minutes before the close. No overnight positions.
